LOVE IS A STRANGER

This morning I visited the weekend sale. I popped into RAMA Salon, the Mathilde hairstyle intrigued me. Sculptural, assertive. Less mall nostalgia, more Dallas, Season 3. The kind of hair that enters a room before you do. I didn’t go for the style alone.
Then at David Heather’s main store I found the Ilaria Blouse – pinstriped, structured, unapologetically severe, waited without ceremony. I didn’t browse. I selected. On its own, the hair felt like a stranger striking, but unmoored. The blouse gave it context. The neckline lent it purpose and the shoulders, broad, architectural, held the entire composition in place. It was power dressing with no need for applause. The kind of silhouette that doesn’t ask for attention. It assumes it.
My makeup look is Goreglams Angel Eyeshadow, VELOURS Botoxic Summer Lipstick, and Dotty’s Secret Roxy Blush. I added my vintage MANDALA Tassel Earrings, gold fringe punctuated with pearls. Glamorous and sleek by design.
Later that day, I visited Le Chateau’s Yacht Club. A cocktail of French and American 80s nostalgia. Poolside drinks that taste like vacation and regret. You don’t go there to be subtle. You go there to be seen.
I lit a cigarette. I leaned back.
It’s savage and it’s cruel and it shines like destruction
Echoed in the distance.
The look wasn’t assembled,
It emerged.
The blouse gave me the reason,
the hair made sense.
And the earrings—well,
they always do.
